About Crypto Arena
The Los Angeles Clippers play their home games out of the Crypto.com Arena in Downtown Los Angeles, California. The facility is adjacent to the LA Live development and is next to the Los Angeles Convention Center complex. It opened on October 17, 1999 when it was known as Staples Center until December 2021 when Crypto.com purchased naming rights.
Currently, the arena is home to the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA, and the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA. The arena was also the former home of the AFL’s Los Angeles Avengers as well as the NBA D-League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders.
As a multipurpose arena it has a variety of arrangements and capacities. With capacity ranging from 19,079 fans for Basketball events to 8,000 seats for a Concert Theatre style production. The arena can also be expanded to 21,000 seats for Boxing and Wrestling events.
And speaking of multiple uses, the arena has been host to a variety of bands and events. Including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band who were the first act to perform at the venue on its 1999 opening. THe venue also hosted the 1st Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2000 and the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Los Angeles Clippersare an NBA team that plays out of the Crypto.com Arena for their home games. They play as part of the Pacific Division in the league’s Western Conference. The Clippers currently share the arena with the LA Lakers. However, the Clippers are planning to move to their own arena by 2024.
The franchise was founded as the Buffalo Braves in 1970 as an expansion team, led by Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo. The Braves earned early distinction after reaching the playoffs three times during their 8 seasons in Buffalo. Eventually the team relocated to San Diego in 1978 when they rebranded as the San Diego Clippers referencing the sailing ships that were often seen in San Diego Bay.
But after a few disappointing years, the team relocated to Los Angeles without NBA approval But the team’s fortunes didn’t improve during much of this time, especially when compared to the LA Lakers.
But things improved for the team in the 2010s when new teams and strategies led to the team being consistent postseason contenders. A lot of this turn of fortune was credited to the “Lob City” lineup of Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Chris Paul. The team also won two division titles in 2013 and 2014, which was a first for the franchise. And though the team never played in the NBA finals, fans are eagerly watching the team improve every year.

The Los Ageles Clippers are no strangers to intense games of basketball. They play hard and work hard to score points and to make their fans cheer. As you can guess, this commitment has led to a strong collection of awards and recognition across their many seasons of play.
For instance, the team has earned two Division titles in 2013 and 2014. The team has also earned two NBA Rookie of the Year awards with Terry Cummings in 1983 and Blake Griffin in 2011. Similarly, the team has earned 5 Sixth Man of the Year awards with Jamal Crawford in 2014 and 2016, Lou Williams in 2018 and 2019, and Montrezel Harrell in 2020.
On top of this, the team has fielded multiple players who have made it to the All-NBA Teams including Chris Paul who made the selection for the All-NBA First TEam from 2012-2014, Blake Griffin who made it to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2011, and Landry Shamet who earned selection on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2019.
The team has also fielded 10 players who have been seelected for the NBA All-Star GAme and 3 who have earned recognition as the NBA All-Star Game MVP including Kawhi Leonard in 2020.
